Our right of reply was published in Médiapart.

This article states untruths about us and is based on a mechanism of Orwellian inversions: men could become women, materialist feminists like us would be essentialists, etc...

We are not opposed to the rights of trans people, we are not anti-trans, we are pro-woman. We criticize transgenderism which is a sexist ideology. In the same way that criticizing Islam is not Islamophobic, criticizing transgender ideology is not transphobic. To be transphobic is to discriminate against or call for the hatred of trans people. This is not our case.

To say that we instrumentalize women's rights is false. We observe that trans activists regularly instrumentalize women's struggles to take them over: transfeminine males unscrupulously win women's sports competitions, others are sent to women's prisons and there have been cases of rape of their fellow inmates. Some take up the collages against feminicide to call for the murder of those they designate as "TERFs", others try to call for a boycott of the feminicide count held since 2016 by the collective "Feminicides by mates or exes" on the grounds that it would not include transfeminine males.

If we do not reduce women to their bodies, we consider that this body is the only thing that allows us to define what a woman is. To say that women are adult human females is incompatible with essentialism: it is what is philosophically called materialism. To be a materialist is to rely on the concrete, the real, what can be quantified and measured. On the contrary, transgenderism, which would like us to attach more importance to the "gender expression" of a person, is a form of essentialism according to which the essence of women would be to wear heels and sequins. 

We are not opposed to all transitions and we understand that in some cases of dysphoria this solution seems to be the best. We simply call for vigilance, highlighting health scandals such as that of the Tavistock gender clinic currently being sued by over a thousand families for transitioning their children in fragile situations.  

Our widely expressed and assumed positions for the constitutionalization of the right to abortion, for the sharing of domestic tasks, for the recognition of the Shoah, against anti-Semitism, for the reception of refugees, for gay and lesbian marriage are antinomic to any association with the extreme right.

Transgender ideology attempts to redefine what sexual orientation is. Forcing lesbians to include penises in their sexuality is the basis of lesbophobia. Whether these penises are those of so-called "cis" men or transfeminine males who claim to be lesbians. Moreover, the existence of trans people proves that transition is not always the best solution to gender dysphoria.
